The purpose of this paper is to examine the development
pattern of Korea's automotive industry in historical context and
identify the factors which have contributed to ancillary firm
development in Korea. In Section Ⅱ, a historical overview of the
growth of the automotive industry in Korea is presented. In
Section Ⅲ, we investigate the development pattern of the
automobile industry and the factors which have contributed to
ancillary firm development, Finally, some concluding remarks and
the implication of the Korean experience are presented in Section
Ⅳ.
