The Effects of Export Incentives on Korean Export Growth : 1953-79
요약
Since Korea adopted an export-oriented growth strategy in
the First Five-Year Economic Development Plan of 1962-66,
export growth has been remarkable, and is credited with being
the predominant force behind the rapid economic growth in the
ensuing period of the 1960's and 1970's While many studies
analyzing the causation running from export growth to economic
growth have been done in the areas of trade regime and
economic growth, this work investigates Korean export
incentives and conducts a comprehensive quantitative estimate of
the effects of export incentives on export growth in a
macro-economic framework. This can be a useful study that
bears policy implications in that it investigates the basic
underlying structural relationships between exports and policy
variables such as export incentives, exchange rate policy and
other trade regime variables.
