The Global Carbon Market Investment Forum, hosted by the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MOEF) and organized by the Korea Development Institute (KDI), will be held on December 11–12, 2025.

As the urgency of global climate action continues to intensify, the global carbon market—together with the application of Article 6 mechanisms—has emerged as an emerging instrument for supporting countries in achieving their Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) and mobilizing climate finance at scale.

This Forum is designed to advance ongoing international dialogue and strengthen practical bilateral and multilateral cooperation. Relevant counterparts from multilateral development banks (MDBs), international organizations, financial institutions, private-sector carbon market actors, and government authorities from seven partner countries will gather to discuss strategies and actionable pathways for the growth of global carbon markets.

Under the theme “A Pathway for a Carbon Market Aligned with Article 6,” the Forum will explore a wide range of critical topics, including ITMOs, investment mobilization through public–private collaboration, strengthening market transparency and integrity, enhancing institutional linkages, and advancing digital MRV innovations.

We hope this Forum will serve as a meaningful platform to accelerate real-world emissions reductions and expand international cooperation.
