The rapid advancement of artificial intelligence (AI) today presents both opportunities and challenges across the economic and social landscape. In particular, AI is increasingly recognized as a transformative technology that can enhance efficiency and transparency throughout the entire cycle of fiscal policy—planning, implementation, and evaluation. At the same time, it is imperative for governments to establish systematic directions for AI investment to drive future industrial growth and foster national strategic industries.

The 13th Korea–OECD International Forum on Budgeting, under the theme “the Role of Artificial Intelligence in Fiscal Policy,” will engage in in-depth discussions on critical issues ranging from “AI and Fiscal Efficiency” to “AI Investment and the Role of Fiscal Policy.” Hosted by the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MOEF), and co-organized by KDI and the OECD, the Forum will serve as a meaningful platform for distinguished experts from Korea and abroad to share research findings and practical experiences, while exploring new pathways for fiscal policy and global cooperation in the age of AI.
